McDonald's McCafe to take down Starbucks???

It looks like McDonalds is planning on shaking up the morning latte market. They are installing, or have installed, McCafes in all of their locations. These McCafes will feature froofy coffee drinks such as espresso, lattes, etc. and an assortment of muffins & pastries at a lower price than Starbucks while attempting to provide better taste. They are also going to hire baristas to make the coffee and man the McCafes. In addition to all of this, they are upgrading my locations with improved furniture & free wi-fi Internet service in an attempt to attract people to come and sit in McDonalds as they do in Starbucks.

Personally, I think this is a brilliant move on McDonald's part. Years ago when I lived in Oregon I hated Starbucks, it was my absolute last resort when it came to buying a cup of coffee. However, in Hawaii our coffee choices are limited so I have actually grown to enjoy going to Starbucks. Every time I go to Starbucks the following line from So I Married An Axe Murderer rolls through my head "Because Colonel Sanders puts an addictive chemical in his chicken that makes ya crave it fortnightly." I know that I am paying too much for coffee that isn't that good, but I still enjoy going once a week or so.

I almost never go to McDonalds, but I have to admit that if they had better tasting coffee for a better price than Starbucks and offered the same convenience, I would be there in a heartbeat.
